About Uneverse

Uneverse is a passionate attempt to create truly indigenous building blocks for a sustainable future of e-mobility and clean energy. Uneverse starts its journey by addressing the core of clean energy and mobility – Deep Battery Technology!
To achieve this grand purpose Uneverse and IIT KGP have signed an exclusive MOU to commercialize and further develop the patented Sodium Ion technology. Under this program, indigenously developed sodium ion batteries, involving multiple form factors of cells & electrode raw materials will be made available for Indian market. The deep battery technology used is completely indigenous in nature hence proudly propagating the Made in India philosophy.
Uneverse Mobility will be setting up the manufacturing facilities that would lead to large-scale production of sodium ion batteries, which have already achieved a technology readiness level (TRL) of 7. The joint activity is a perfect example of the changing times in India, where the academia-industry collaboration is becoming the focus of research activities in most of the institutes of national importance.

Dr Amreesh Chandra

Prof. Dep of Physics – IIT Kharagpur
Dr. Amreesh Chandra is currently working as a Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Before joining IIT Kharagpur in 2009, Dr. Chandra had worked at the University of Surrey (UK) and the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (Germany).
Dr. Chandra completed his PhD in 2004 from the School of Materials Science and Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology, BHU. Dr. Chandra has more than 20 years of experience in the field of materials development for various device applications. His team has been extensively working on the development of next generation electrode materials for use in batteries beyond Li-ion. Over the last many years, Dr. Chandra and co-workers have been a promoting the use of Na-ion based technologies for making “Bharat” self-reliant in the area of energy storage. These batteries and supercapacitors can be used for integration in EVs to mobile cell towers, charging stations to solar-based generation units, calculators to glucometers, e-cycles to smart watches.
The team has the capabilities to develop energy storage solutions starting from materials development, device level integration, recycling to determination of carbon footprint of the complete process. The work of Dr. Chandra and his team is well known in the community, and they have been honoured with a large number of awards, both national and international.
